After a long winter break, Celtic returned to action and travelled up north to Aberdeen in what was a hard fought victory with Postecoglou’s men taking home all three points.
It was a slow start for the Bhoys as they struggled to put the ball in the back of the net thank to a solid defensive performance from Jim Goodwin’s Aberdeen men with the tactic of keeping 10 men behind the ball , which proved to be an issue for the visitors
The score stayed level at half time after a quiet first half , the Hoops then continued to keep possession of the ball into the second half and continued to dominate but again, were lacking a goal as they struggled to hit it home.
Despite being good defensively, Goodwin’s side were mainly quiet at goal , giving Joe Hart little to no involvement in the game , thanks to the help of his defenders infront of him , Cameron Carter-Vickers and a solid performance from Carl Starfelt putting him in contention for the match ball.
Despite the nerves from the traveling support as the game got closer to the 90 minute mark , the visitors had patience and continued to play their football and finally , after a solid performance throughout the game , it was Captain Callum McGregor with the goal 87 minutes into the game with the help from substitute James Forrest , to the delight of his teammates and supporters.
It is late goals like that , that make Postecoglou’s words of “We Never Stop” have a strong influence on his players.
Overall , it was a good performance from the visitors despite leaving it late to score , taking the crucial three points back to Glasgow. The result means Celtic are back to nine points clear at the top the table.
