Since Brendan has arrived and settled his feet in under the desk at Lennoxtown we have come to know his strongest 11 and his core 15. I think most would agree that Brendan’s First 11 would be pretty much the following;
Gordon; Lustig, Sviatchenko, Simunovic, Tierney; Brown, Armstrong; Forrest, Rogic, Sinclair; Dembele.
Added to these 11 would be Griffiths, McGregor, Roberts, Gamboa. Of interest since the return from the winter break is the appearance, from virtually nowhere of Boyata to play 3 on the trot and the reappearance of Biton.
The Celtic team yesterday had the two top strikers in Scotland missing as well as Rogic and Lustig, with Armstrong picking up a knock pre-game. Despite this we were able to brush Hearts aside and march on to a new post war club record. It is a testament to all that the omission of so many goals made no difference to our ability to slam 4 past Hearts and a testament to the players that came in that we had such a comfortable win. Hearts contributed with slack play but much of that was as a result of our high pressing. All I can say this season is roll on the next game.
