It was a seven goal thriller as the Celtic B team welcomed city rivals, Rangers, to the east end of Glasgow and it was Darren O’Deas side who came out on top . It was an exciting occasion for both clubs as the teams got a taste of the future as they had the opportunity to play at Celtic Park in-front of the Celtic supporters.

After what was a mainly dominant start from Celtic , it was Rangers who opened the scoring after Charlie McCann converted the penalty kick on the 14th minute of the first half.

The young hoops had various missed chances throughout the rest of the half and also a penalty claim of their own which was ultimately not given .It was around the 38 minute mark , when Celtic’s Rocco Vata hit it home , scoring the equalizer for his team , this comes after making his competitive debut for the first team on Wednesday night .  The first half ended and the score was level at 1-1

The Second half started strongly for both sides with the Bhoys having their fair share of possession of the ball but failed to take the chances at goal , the visitors also had good possession of the ball , forcing the Hoops to press and also forcing a few saves from Celtic Goalkeeper , Tobi Oluwayemi.

It was 71 minutes into the game when the visitors took the lead once again , and it was substitute James Graham , who had the ball in the back of the net for his side. Four minutes later , on the 75th minute , Celtic equalized and it was Mackenzie Carse with the goal.

The second equalizer from the hosts gave them some confidence as from there on in they took full control of the game. On the 81rst minute, Celtic took the league to go 3-2 up and it was an own goal from McCann after his attempted block of the ball ended up in his own net.

Celtic’s next two goals came from super sub Joey Dawson as he found the ball in the back of the net twice , his first being on the 91st minute having just came on the park , and his second goal two minutes later on the 93rd minute

The game ended 5-2 with the Hoops taking all three points and it was an exciting day for the players as they put on a show for the home support  , over coming a tough Rangers side , coming back from being behind twice to winning the game,  finishing off 2022 on a high.
