The player clearly has ambition and obviously has a strong desire to make the grade at Celtic Park: “I don’t want my age to hold me back,” Keatings recently told the Celtic View. “If I keep improving and playing then age won’t be a factor and hopefully I’ll get a chance in the first team soon.
“The manager saw me after the Hearts game and told me to keep doing what I’ve been doing, he’s really happy with me just now.”
The big question is will James get off the bench and enjoy a taste of first team action tomorrow? As you can imagine that apparently depends very much upon the flow of the game but it is clear that James will sooner or later follow his fellow academy graduate, James Forrest, into the first team. Tomorrow will be his opportunity to start that journey. We wish him well and know that he will not let anyone down.
