Words are hard to describe the sense of euphoria and unity cascading around Celtic Park as the team absolutely battered the huns. They say the sum of the parts equals the whole and yesterday that was beyond anyone’s wildest imagination. Celtic were simply sensational.
When you have young boys dancing with delight along with guys in their 70’s you know that something special is happening. When the stands are singing ‘Let’s all do the Huddle’ and everyone is literally doing the Huddle it is going way beyond football supporting norms.
On the park the team were magnificent with absolutely top class performances from all who played their part. The narrow minded media had attempted before the game to peddle the myth that there was no more than a rizla paper between these two teams but the reality is that there is a huge chasm between the silkiness of Celtic’s smooth passing style and the busted flush of a tired creaking hun team.
Celtic are in the ascendancy again and the supporters are right behind Neil Lennon and the team he has put together.
Folk will talk about this game for years to come not just because of the destruction of Walter Myth and the huns but because it galvanised everyone again and provided a platform for wonderful celebrations of everything that is good about Celtic.
Wonderful Celtic.
