Ange Postecoglou and Celtic travelled across the city as they faced rivals, Rangers at Ibrox on Monday afternoon.
It was a quick fire start from the Bhoys as five minutes in , Daizen Maeda opened the scoring , after Alfredo Morelos gave the ball away and put the ball in his path.
The Bhoys continued to keep hold of the ball throughout the half but ultimately had no chances at goal. The few chances that the host’s had came to nothin also with Morelos continuously failing to put the ball past Joe Hart. The first half ended 1-0 to Celtic.
As the second half began, it was the hosts who took the upper hand , coming out as the better team. Ryan Kent scored the equalizer for his side on the 47th minute after some good football from his side. Six minutes later , Rangers took the lead with a James Tavernier penalty after Fashion Sakala was brought down in the box by Carl Starfelt.
All hope seemed lost for the traveling Celtic supporters in attendance as Celtic seemed to be lacking the quality on the pitch.
After Celtic tried to get back into the game , they failed to take their chances , although , they had two penalty shouts which were controversially not given.
When all hope seemed lost , substitutes Jota and Mooy showed the quality that the team were lacking. Jota found Mooy in the box , who knocked the ball forward , falling perfectly into the path of KyogoFuruhashi , who to the relief of the support , got the equalizer on the 88th minute with just two minutes left to play .
The scoreline remained 2-2 , as both teams failed to put their team ahead in the seven minutes of added injury time.
The final score means both sides shared 1 point , and it keeps Postecoglou’s side nine points clear at the top of the league table .
When speaking on the match and the teams performance , Postecoglou said : “A cracking game of football , A derby. We had to fight hard for it today.”
