Celtic have this morning confirmed the media speculation that Brendan Rodgers wants to leave the club and leave now.

It was known that Brendan would not be manager for next season, but to leave mid campaign, especially this close to completion of a treble treble will not reflect well on him.  The one positive would be the fact that this was expected.  The club have known since August that they would be replacing him in the summer and we are only a few months from then.  I would expect that we would have;

Plan A – Brendan and the new guy have a joint press conference for the handover and it’s all very smooth

Plan B – Brendan leaves one day and the new guy arrives the next

Plan C – Brendan leaves and it takes a month for the new guy

Plan D – Brendan leaves early

With the advanced knowledge I cannot believe we don’t have a Plan D ready.

Brendan has indicated to the Club that this is an opportunity he wishes to investigate further and therefore, very reluctantly, the Club has granted him permission to speak to Leicester City.
